Wounded Warriors United was founded by Thomas Tavtigian also a wounded warrior. While deployed in Iraq Thomas was on a routine patrol, when his vehicle ran over an IED. It is estimate that the pressure plate IED consisted of 75lbs of HME (homemade explosive). Over the course of the next few years Thomas went thru more than 17 surgeries. During that time Thomas met many wounded warriors. To witness some of these wounded warriors and the injuries they sustained was life changing. Thomas wanted to give back and still serve in someway. That’s when he came up with Wounded Warriors United. Giving back to those who gave so much.
